Me in a Nutshell

Mother and nerd. And, every now and then, a [cool] geek. I was born under a dictatorial regime and then taken to the one right next door and, "thanks" to this circumstance, I grew up in one of the most interesting regions of Latin America: el Cono Sur. I'm a true rioplatense, a person from a geographic zone where everybody sounds like an Italian trying to speak Spanish. The U.S. wasn't part of my life plan -at least, not on a permanent basis- but Love and Uruguayan politics simply made it happen. After 4 years as an American, many corners of this country have a place in my heart — Nevada, Utah, Florida, Mississippi. Life, love, education and my career have all turned me into one of the most non-native fusionistas I've ever met. As such, I'm able to truly enjoy the best of both worlds. And, yes, I do dream in both languages... Say "Hi!" - Email me

  • Advertising people who ignore research are as dangerous as generals who ignore decodes of enemy signals.- David Ogilvy
  • An idea that is not dangerous is unworthy of being called an idea at all.- Oscar Wilde
  • All the [cultural] fusion isn't happening in a vacuum-sealed pouch of one demographic. It is a live organism rapidly mutating into mainstream culture.- Marta Insua (Alma DDB)
  • The traditional theories -the melting pot and the salad bowl- do not truly reflect what really has happened with multiculturalism in the U.S.- Chiqui Cartagena (Univision)
